Westin Nusa Dua Bali room tour

I am in the middle of a three night stay at the Westin Nusa Dua in Bali, Indonesia. This is a great property located directly on the beach with easy walking access to off-property amenities such as a shopping mall and a series of local shopping stalls. In reviewing this hotel, I am going to break things up into four sections– the room, the pool and beach, the indoor areas and restaurants, and the spa. This review focuses on the room.

I have prepared a short video of the room for anyone who would like a walk through. It is a fairly basic room with several upgraded amenities appropriate to a top-flight international resort. I got upgraded to a room with a pool view and a small standing balcony, and it is nice to be able to look out my room and see that. Immediately on entering the room, there is a light switch. You have to put in your room key to make the lights and air conditioning run, which is done to make sure they don’t run the air when you aren’t in the room. That’s fine, because the air conditioning is incredibly efficient. Below is a view of the bed and sitting area in my room:

You will notice the wood floors. Almost all of the flooring in this hotel is wood or tile, and that makes sense- this hotel is located on the beach, and anything else would be a disaster to clean up from all of the sand people track in. The room also features a nice sitting area, a large open closet, and a flat panel TV with a good selection of English language news channels. The bathroom was also set up nicely:

There are several other nice features about this hotel. The basic wifi is free, and it is perfectly fast for uploading videos and such. I have not tried streaming anything. Service is very responsive when I ask for something, the beds are great, and there is an adequate work area in the room. The major downside is the cost of food and drinks, although we are quickly discovering places we can walk to off property. The drinks also aren’t unreasonable given the type of hotel this is. Stay tuned for reviews of the public areas of this hotel…
