Ugh. I hate how closely you have to read the fine print to understand what you are getting from Verizon Wireless. I have noted before that they have some pretty good options for international travel, and I stay with them because their network works really, really well. I just hate the rocket science involved in figuring out what I am getting. I usually get some sort of lawyerly response, but this isn’t a court of law. I as a customer want to understand what I am getting without having to go through hoops.
My wife and I upgraded our phones in May 2016. At that time, we were on a data plan which gave us 6 GB of data. We noticed that under the new plans 8GB of data would be the same price, so we decided to do that. As a bonus, the 8 GB of data came with 2 extra GB per line, which which give us 12 total gigs. Sweet. We thus signed up for the new plan the following month when our billing cycle changed. Except that…. well, except that we did those two things in the wrong order. Apparently, we already had to be on the higher data plan to get the 2 bonus GB per line. The representative with whom I spoke yesterday was unbending on this.
I get that Verizon is in the legal right here, and I am confident there was some text somewhere which fully explained this. However, as some of my other posts show I spend a lot of time researching before I make decisions. This was a pretty bad customer service move, and I wish I could get my bonus data since I did everything I though I was supposed to do. Ugh.
