The main seating area of the DFW Terminal B Admiral's Club.

DFW Terminal B Admiral’s Club

I have spent more time on American Airlines regionals jets than anybody I know. I grew up in a small town in Texas served exclusively by AA. My grandparents lived in similar towns, and I have had jobs in other Texas cities which almost require AA regional jets. I now live in Alabama while my family lives in Texas, and that means…. more regional jets on American. The American Airlines Admiral’s Club makes that experience much better. In particular, I may have spent more time in the DFW Terminal B Admiral’s Club than I have at my kid’s events through the years. Joking, of course, but you get the point. So what kind of space is it?

If you want a full video tour of the space, please check out the video we just posted to the Dine Drink Travel YouTube page. If you want to know how to gain access to the club, I strongly encourage you to check out what American has to say. The easiest way to gain access is by buying a membership, and that is particularly important if you are travelling domestically. However, you can also use miles for passes, get the right credit card, fly in international premium classes, or do several other things. Just know that simply being in first class on a domestic flight is not enough to gain access.

What do they have in the DFW Terminal B Admiral’s Club?

When I travelled through DFW earlier this week, I didn’t have time for dinner. Over the last few years, all American Airlines Admiral’s Club locations have been doing a better job with complimentary food and beverage options. The DFW Terminal B Admiral’s Club is no exception, and it helped me out this week. They routinely have (depending on time of day) two soups, two hot dishes, some fruit, and a fairly large charcuterie spread. This is absolutely *not* the fine dining you sometimes see advertised. However, if you need a quick meal and don’t want to pay airport prices it is a great option.

As with essentially all Admiral’s Clubs, this location has excellent coffee service. That can be a lifesaver when you are trying to get through a busy day at the airport. The Terminal B location also has a large business center with a few computers and a number of cubicles where you can work with your own laptop. There are also conference rooms, a reasonable size bar, and one shower. Most importantly, they clean the bathrooms waaayyyyyy more often than the bathrooms in the terminal.

Final Verdict on this Admiral’s Club

I will say here what I said in the aforementioned video. This is not a location where you want to intentionally schedule a layover to spend several hours. For something like that, you might check out our post on Flagship First dining. However, not everything in travel can be a luxury experience. What this location provides is a solid place away from the crowds where you can relax, grab a drink and a light meal, and get some work done. It helps make regional jet travel survivable.
