When you cruise, remember something important: You don’t have to do anything at all. Reading a book or talking to friends or taking a nap are all great choices. However, sometimes you also want to get out and do something. The Royal Caribbean Cruise Compass contains daily activities and is distributed to your cabin each day. Let’s take a look at the Cruise Compasses for a July 2019 Western Caribbean sailing on the Liberty of the Seas.
- Day 1 (embarkation in Galveston)
- Day 2 (at sea)
- Day 3 (Cozumel, Mexico)
- Day 4 (Grand Cayman)
- Day 5 (Falmouth, Jamaica)
- Day 6 (at sea)
- Day 7 (at sea)
The Cruise Compass for embarkation day will be waiting in your cabin when you board. After that, it is delivered each night for the next day. If you miss it, more copies are available at guest services. There are several things to be aware of when looking at the daily program.
First, it is completely OK to not do anything. You are free to sit in your cabin, or by the pool, or in a bar. You can talk to your friends or be by yourself. Don’t feel like you have to keep a schedule.
Secondly, note anything which will require reservations. For example, ice skating on our cruise required reservations. Shows, however, did not. Different ships have different policies about what requires reservations.
Finally, look out for items with a dollar sign by them. Those will require an extra fee. You may very well elect to do some of those things. We certainly did, but it is better to be forewarned. Happy sailing!
