The Port of Galveston announced last year plans to build a third cruise pier. Those details are forthcoming. However, in December 2018 Galveston officials talked about building it as a much larger pier. Royal Caribbean officials discussed their desire to bring a larger ship to Galveston. On Tuesday, I wrote that only the Liberty of the Seas is scheduled in Galveston past April 2021. It looks like there will be more good news for Galveston cruisers. However, a Galveston Oasis class announcement has been delayed. Royal Caribbean should announce more details in early December.

Royal Caribbean has changed when they will announce their Summer 2021 schedule. Caribbean cruises from Galveston will now be announced two weeks later than planned.

I love to book cruises far in advance. That lets me reserve specialty cabins, and often the rates are lower. I also love to spend many months looking forward to each cruise. We reported earlier that the Royal Caribbean Summer 2021 schedule would be coming out November 4. It is still coming soon, but there is a slight delay.

We wrote earlier this month with the complete schedule of cruises from Galveston through April 2021. Happily, Carnival has since updated their schedule. Even better, there is great news for cruisers from Texas. The Carnival 2021 Galveston schedule is expanding. Carnival will offer cruises on 4 different ships on a wider variety of itineraries.

We sailed in the Villa Suite this Summer on the Liberty of the Seas. It was an amazing experience (link opens video). There was a trick, though. To get this cabin for July 2019, we had to book it in November 2017. Our group wants to take another trip. That means we need to know the Royal Caribbean 2021 schedule. Fortunately, the company has announced when they will have those details. Here, we talk about what we know and what the impact will be for cruisers from Galveston.

The Galveston cruise calendar has a lot of excellent options.

When we started sailing from Galveston in 2002, there weren’t a lot of options. Carnival had one old ship (the Celebration) sailing short itineraries. Later, Royal Caribbean added one older ship (the Rhapsody) sailing short cruises. By now, however, the Galveston cruise calendar has almost too many options.
