Pizza Rock Las Vegas

Detroit Style Pizza at Pizza Rock Las Vegas

When we go to Las Vegas, we usually stay on the Strip. Last month, however, we decided to stay downtown on the Fremont Street Experience. The first night we decided to go out for pizza, and I am glad we did. Pizza Rock Las Vegas was an easy walk, and they had both dine in and carryout options. We have a short video on the Dine Drink Vegas YouTube page if you want to check out the vibe of the space. If you want to dine-in, you should definitely make reservations. I don’t usually say this about a pizza joint, but you will also definitely want to think about what to order before you get there.

So why think about what you want to order before you get there? It is a pizza joint, after all. And for those of you from one of America’s great pizza cities– New York or Chicago or Detroit– that isn’t any big deal. For those of us for whom pizza is essentially a choice between competing toppings, however, things get significantly more complicated.

The chicken parmesan sandwich with French fries as Pizza Rock Las Vegas was outstanding.

Even if the only thing they had on the menu was pizza, you still have to select the basic style– Chicago vs New York vs Detroit vs several other choices. After that, the toppings list was really long– do try the meatballs. However, there were also sandwiches and salads pastas. All of it was great. They had a full service bar, although since it is primarily a pizza joint I would recommend sticking to their extensive beer list. Some thoughts for your trip:

  • The walk-up window is great if you need a late night snack. That is a thing which happens in Vegas.
  • Make reservations if you want to sit down.
  • Really think through that menu before you arrive. You don’t just sit down and order a pizza.
  • Look at their happy hour specials if you are looking for a deal.
  • Happy travels, and check out the video!
