It has been a looooonnnnnggggg time since we have been able to post about cruises. I have another one scheduled in December on the Carnival Breeze. I cannot tell you how excited I am. Getting ready for that cruise, however, made me find some old videos from the Before Times. You know, before COVID took over the world. One of the videos I found was of the Carnival Dream Breakfast Buffet and Blue Iguana. The upshot? Carnival’s buffet wasn’t great. What was amazing was the other free food options they had– things like the Blue Iguana.

I love to eat on a cruise. I always tell myself I am going to eat healthy, too. Here is the thing- that is completely possible. There are plenty of great choices for healthy eating. It just never works out that way because, er, well, there are a lot of choices. I like them all. Unfortunately, on my cruise last month I was able to keep my healthy eating options at breakfast. Carnival Dream breakfast options are good, but they aren’t great. That helped a lot with the willpower.

Main Dining Room Breakfast on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas

One of my worries when we went on our Royal Caribbean cruise this Summer was whether there would be enough choices for breakfast. The buffet is fine, although I am not a huge fan. There is a private restaurant for suite guests, but then I couldn’t dine with my buddies who were staying in other cabins. Room service was an option, but I generally wake up before the rest of my family. Happily, the main dining room breakfast presented an excellent alternative at no additional cost. The menu is above. Ignore where it says “Exclusive to Suite Guests.” That means we could order these things through room service, but this is exactly the same menu as is open to everyone in the main dining room.
