Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas video review deck by deck

YouTube Poster

Dine Drink Travel cruised the Liberty of the Seas in 2017. I have already written about the grand suite, the spa, the casino, the suite lounge, and many other areas of the ship. However, a large group of us is preparing to cruise this ship again in 2019. As we prepare for that trip, I created a Youtube list to let you see the public spaces of the ship deck by deck. This should help you quickly find what you are looking for. In addition to our Liberty of the Seas video review, let me spend a couple of minutes here describing some of the highlights of the ship which I did not cover earlier. Royal Caribbean Brasserie 30 lunch menu

The main dining room lunch menu on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas for the June 25, 2017 sailing.

I wrote yesterday about the fact that I am not a huge fan of the buffet on Royal Caribbean (RCCL). It was fine, I just don’t like huge crowds. While I have eaten lunch in Chops Steakhouse and at Giovanni’s, my preference is also to avoid paying extra for my lunch. Happily, the main dining room presents an excellent alternative. RCCL calls their main dining room lunch menu “Brasserie 30.” While I am not sure they hit any particular theme in Brasserie 30, it is probably the best free lunch option on the ship. Main Dining Room Breakfast on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas

Main Dining Room breakfast menu on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas as of the June 25, 2017 sailing.

One of my worries when we went on our Royal Caribbean cruise this Summer was whether there would be enough choices for breakfast. The buffet is fine, although I am not a huge fan. There is a private restaurant for suite guests, but then I couldn’t dine with my buddies who were staying in other cabins. Room service was an option, but I generally wake up before the rest of my family. Happily, the main dining room breakfast presented an excellent alternative at no additional cost. The menu is above. Ignore where it says “Exclusive to Suite Guests.” That means we could order these things through room service, but this is exactly the same menu as is open to everyone in the main dining room. It is open seating with waiter service, and it is a much calmer pace than eating in the buffet. Continue reading “Main Dining Room Breakfast on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas”

Liberty of the Seas Grand Suite

Earlier this week, I posted a video review of our Liberty of the Seas Grand Suite (#1298). We sailed on the Royal Caribbean ship for the 25 June 2017 departure out of Galveston. This was a great cabin for our family of 4. I know that many folks prefer to have text-based information, so…. here you go! This was a great cabin for mom, dad, and sons aged 9 and 11. The suite perks were also nice, but today I just want to focus on what the cabin itself was like. It was almost identical to the trip we took on the Navigator of the Seas in 2015 in another Grand Suite, although all of the pictures are from this sailing. 2019 Royal Caribbean Suite Perks update

Royal Caribbean occupies an interesting niche in the cruise industry. Their closest competitor is probably Carnival, and each line offers a distinct sub-niche: Carnival offers an excellent budget value, and Royal Caribbean tends to offer newer ships with slightly more space. Royal Caribbean also does something else which Carnival is only starting to do– for guests in a Grand Suite or above, Royal Caribbean suite perks make the cruise a very different experience. I have seen a lot of folks ask the question about whether those perks are worth it, and I attempt to answer that question here. Continue reading “Are the Royal Caribbean suite perks worth it?”
